You wake up at Seatac, SFO, LAX. You wake up at O'Hare, Dallas-Fort Worth, BWI. Pacific, mountain, central. Lose an hour, gain an hour. This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time. You wake up at Air Harbor International. If you wake up at a different time, in a different place, could you wake up as a different person? We're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.

    • Growth of the poor

After a long hiatus I am back to blogging. Too much of work makes Jack a dull boy. Off late I was able to read about a lot of technological advances, recently I was reading through a article in rediff about Mobile TV getting popularized and was amazed to see the target of people who will holding a TV in their hands. The no was much huge than was one will expect. It was in millions and today I read an article about cell phones predicting the possibility of earth quakes. I see a film where in everything is mind-boggling, you need to wake up …shit...Eat... Sleep that’s it... Everything else is carried out by the genie systems. What the hell I am surrounded by. Technologically is in fully geared up. The future world will be become a reality as what is shown in films like The Fifth Element, The island... You have an insurance policy and it will be a clone of yours, flying cars and houses; what not. Our wildest imagination will become a reality. But I see no change happening in the world around see, I could still see people struggling for three meals a day. Off late I see a no of articles in economic times written about the poor, poverty line. Though one part of the world is growing rapidly, the other part doesn’t even seem to improve and their positions are getting worsened day by day. Recently even the World Bank decided to support on equity rather than on the poor. Their argument, investing on equity will result in the betterment of the poor. If it is really going to happen then smile on everyone’s face else it will a very hard fact which be indigestible. Everyone wants to go to the greener side forgetting there are many waiting for us to pull them too, but we forget the world behind us. If everyone stays like this, without uplifting the poor, global improvement circle is not complete. Recently the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act has been launched. But we will have to wait and see how well it achieved its target?

An individual investing in equity will become poor. eg: Jagan

      dey jagan,

you are pretty confused with the equity part in world bank report.

The world bank by the term "equity" did not mean the shares. Rather they meant the equity between people.

The World Bank actually believed that poverty can be eradicated by bringing about equity among people.

Its a part and parcel of development.growth cant be stopped on the pretext that its uneven.it never will be smooth.
everyone has to do their job.poverty minimisation isnt just the govt's job..
