Another message giving film… though it had a neat script, the screenplay made it look like yet another movie of this genre. We have seen enough of this in films like Ramana, Indian etc: - the message -- politicians should be qualified for the post which they hold. The second half of the film was good; while the first half navigated from the main theme and if made the film kind of dragged a bit. The director’s effort to make the Tamil folk or the natupura songs not to go extinct should be appreciated but then they didn’t go in sync with the film. The film started with the election poll day and it looked like a documentary opening and it gets you the feel what this movie is going to be. Raguvaran and Vishal both were impressive and it was nice to watch Raguvaran on screen after a long time. The climax had some neat punching dialogues, the whole length of the film was very short and after the first 45 minutes, the films get a break. The female lead comes in and goes out for the songs. 2 songs had great melody. Whatever be it, Vishal has got another feather to his cap. “Kanja Karupu” adds humour to the film and Mamta is the female lead for the film.

These days I see too many films with folk songs on like Sivapathigaram, veyil and Paruthuveeran.

Up above the world So High

Extraordinary movie, well it should be since it is based on true life of four rocket boys who set themselves on a mission to get their toy rocket into the sky. This is the real life story of Homer who is serving as a space analyst in NASA. The film is all about his child hood incident of how he tries to launch a rocket into the sky; he gets inspired by the launch of Sputnik Satellite by the Russians and set himself on a mission along with three of his friends to launch a rocket mission. Definitely this is one of my favorite films, the film has a subtle touch throughout and it will incite confidence on any person who wants to achieve more. As usual like scientist , Homer too faces tough challenges from his father to set up this rocket launch who wants him to work in the coal mines, encouraged by his teacher and support from his mother, the boys achieve they set forth for and end up getting scholarship from leading universities. I dont remember the actors name here but they have given full justice to the real life characters. Well this is definitely a worth to be watched movie. Sometimes or other I think you have to watch films like this so that you don’t always waste your time watching movies.

      Cars with a Caps C

Spellbound, I was amazed by the kind of attention given to each frame of this movie. It had a neat script, amazing animation, great dubbing and more. Its all in there, the ingredients aptly mixed…

The intro goes well... Speed … I am Speed… and when the same line gets repeated at the end of the movie, you get up having the effect of watching a action movie, the story is all about a racing car “Lighting McQueen” who wants to win the piston cup, and he gets stuck in the middle of a town on his way to the racing field and what happens there is the rest of the story.

The kind of attention given is interesting, even the bugs which come here is in car shape and the statues are too shaped in car symbols. It was great to watch this movie after a 2 week long of action /suspense. This one had some great romantic sequences matching to that of great romance movies. It’s always nice to watch some light comedy movie once in a while between some serious stints. And added to it, this was an animation movie which even made it more interesting.

      24

Why does the day have only 24 hours, if not this serial would have had more episodes per season.

I am lost for words to write up for this us television action serial, just mentioning action wouldn’t be giving justice it is something more than that , and I bet it is far better than many of the action films that I saw. Till date I have seen 2 seasons of 24. I thought season 1 rocked but season 2 will give you heart attacks with the twists and turn is has. I am done with Season 2, there are instance where I have watched 8-10 episodes straight. Jack Bauer player by Sutherland, is the lead in 24 and the success behind this goes to his credit. The style with which he has gone about is on the lines of Ethan Hunt and the likes, be careful the episode might change the way you think, your vocab’s improve and what more, the time flies like hell. It is a real time action serial where every second is accounted for. Split screens images of what’s happening in every corner, walkie talkie talks, profiling, satellite track etc:- are some of the pick ups in this. Watch and you understand better.

      Bond Royale

This is not the regular Bond film, this bond film takes us to the yesteryear bond films, no high tech gadgets stuff, this is just human, apart from the only remote cardiac arrest control mechanism that bond faces. Don’t miss the first 20 minutes of the film, seat edge entertainer action sequence. The title music is not impressive enough, which is usually regular attraction in a bond film.

Coming to Daniel Craig, many of us were actually disappointed with his selection to play the bond film, but he was good though he may not match Pierce Brosnan style and charisma, he is good enough to play Ian Fleming’s James Bond role though he looks a bit old.

Not sure whether the team deliberately made it to look more human or were they giving justice to Ian Fleming's first novel Casino Royale. Even the bond girls here is not as telling as in the previous film. The film kind of dragged in the middle and I could not understand the card game that they were playing on screen. Our bond here has no big task like saving the earth from a nuclear plant attack or some satellite invasion; this is more on the lines of Mission Impossible and the like. The next bond film BOND 22 is scheduled for 2008; let’s see whether that bond takes us back to the gadget world. This bond film ends in style …. Bond… James Bond

      At Worlds End

The Curse of the black pearl was one of my best and added to it is now the sequel of that Dead Man’s Chest. Wow I just love the character Jack Sparrow .oops… Captain Jack Sparrow. And I am even more thrilled tat one more sequel is yet to be followed. After a long time I had the satisfaction of watching a great movie tat kept me entertained for about 2 ½ hours. Fantasy stories has always been my cup of tea right from childhood days, I have always loved to read stories like Phantom, Flash Gordon and I don’t remember the rest exactly, I used to read a book called Rani Comics and it costs 2 Rs and it comes every weekly and I have struggled so much to save those 2 rs , I would steal 50 paisa, 25 paisa from my mom’s kitchen and put together, collect 2 rs and get the book from the store. I don’t know why pirates sequel makes me remember my child hood days and hence Pirates Of the Carribbean is in my top 10. Thanks to Disney for coming up with such a film.

The sets were majestic, realistic and fantastic and the way script goes will keep u entertaining. Heard from many that the second part is dragged a bit so that they can go ahead with the third sequel, and so I watched the film with some kind of a forebode that the end will somewhat be boring but I didn’t find anything like that, it kept me entertaining till the end.

It’s a good time pass and that’s definitely a under statement, it is much more than that.

The third part is all about in search of the lost captain and the team is all set to go to the world's end under Bill Turner, lets see what disney has in store for the final sequel.

      Broke Up

This film started like the famous Karthick-Sakthi argument after Sakthi;s father passed away in the very famous movie Alaipayuthey, but then after that the movie flunked up. It was kind of nice to watch the film start with the argument over Brooke and Gary, but when you realize they are gonna keep arguing for the entire length of the movie or at least for some time when the movie starts, you kind of get dragged a little. You will feel like stretching yourself. But for Jennifer Aniston and the movie title there is nothing great in the movie. No great background score, no great comedy and no nice romantic scenes as well. I have been trying to watch some real nice romantic comedy off late but all my efforts fail at the end of the movie. I could not remember when did I really enjoyed a nice romantic comedy. Everything is of the type kind of ok or nothing great stuff. All films have start cast alone, apart from that there is nothing much to talk about. So once again I have wasted another one and half hour a day watching a movie that has broke my heart, yet again.

      Celluoid Corner

      The Girl Next Door:
If you are bored of Hollywood real life drama, sci –fi fiction, fantasies that haunt ever Hollywood director, then this one will be a treat to watch, this is a typical romance film that usually visits the studios once in a while, but for Elizabeth Curtley there is nothing much to speak about . This 24 season girl has come a long way from a TV star to the big screen.

      United 93:
Real life drama of the fourth plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, this film is dedicated to all people who have lost their life during 9/11. Don’t expect twist and turns or a BGM that rocks, this is a real life incident and that’s the way film goes. Definitely a worth watch

      Along came Polly:
Except for Jennifer Aniston, nothing great to write about.

      Behind Enemy Lines 2:
If you were inspired by Behind Enemy Lines 1 and try to set urself to watch this one expecting the same as the first one. You are wrong.

      Just my Luck:
No great cast, no great story, but was cute.

      Click:
Adam Sandler’s typical movie. Great to start but kind of drags after the first half.

      Shaggy Dog:
Disney distinctive style shows once again.

      Magnolia:

Wow, if you have the patient to sit three hours and want to watch a great movie, definitely this one is for you. Coincidences – the team has shown a complete movie taking this single word and brilliantly taken, but the climax was dull. In the middle of the movie you except something great to happen at the end, but nothing happens. Tom Cruise was brilliant in the movie especially during the interview scene.
      Magnolia

      The Butterfly Effect:
Complete fantasy stuff. Seeing tat a sequel has come for the movie, I went ahead and saw this one, but nothing great.

      The sentinel:
For a change I saw Michael Douglas as a cop here not romancing around, but still he has the US first lady’s attraction here. Fast, interesting but we have seen many like this.

      Running Scared

This movie I liked it a lot. No great story but it was very dark and so fast, stylish. Photography was good and so was the back ground score.

I always know what you did last summer:

      I always like this film

      24 Seasons:
If you want your time to fly, get hold of these US television series episodes.
