The tag line aptly suits the movie… watch the movie for 15 minutes and its an easy guess .., that’s it a film by selvaraghavan… A typical selvaraghavan movie… his characterization dominates the movie in one front and in the front Dhanush steals the show from the first real to the end. A commendable performance from him and the director/ brother of him has extracted his talent to the core. Though there are many logical flows in the movie like u see only Dhanush having a gun and no one else and single punch from him kills a guy ( weird joke ) and the way people respect him and there are many but the way it has been framed it too good and definitely stands apart from the rest. The things which needs to given a pat on the back are cinematography, music and screen play.

Of course the film is very long stretching more than 3 hours and towards the end you feel like kinda fed up watching more of Dhanush. There is subtle comedy which tags itself throughout the movie which keeps the movie quite interesting. The plot where a gangster trains Dhanush to cut a person’s right hand attracted claps from all corners. Went in a pessimistic mood about the film after hearing my friends view, it didn’t fool me to that extent . I still did enjoy some parts of the film. But I was totally dissatisfied because the song “Oru Nalil” was not screened in the film nor it came as a background score. The main reason why I wanted to watch the movie was the way the song attracted me and it didn’t show up till the end. The film begins with “enga area ulla varatha”, and it slowly moves from frame by frame into a gangster world where Guns and blood is the air around. The color tints which were given as per the mood of the film were too good. In a nutshell, this film did attract me and I am now glued to PudhuPettai songs. But one thing to like this film you basically need to have a flair for gangter and violent films else please dont waste ur money.

“To drink is human, to drink coffee is divine!”

“To drink is human, to drink coffee is divine!”

Wow I came across this phrase in Barista… I was impressed. Here goes another post especially dedicated to one of my hottest and sweetest thing in the world COFFEE. I grew up drinking not horlicks or boost but coffee. From what I remember I started tasting coffee at the age of 10 and the taste still remains the same. The best coffee not comes from the inside of Café coffee day or Barista but from my mom’s kitchen. I really don’t know how she does that, but from what I have tasted in my places nothing beats tat, and having said that, it remains the sole reason why I become such a coffee passionate The next tastiest coffee is from Sathyam Theatres in Chennai, the filter coffee there is by far the best which given a chance will beat the filter coffee made by mylapore mami’s .

I can take coffee anytime of the day, and if the climate is cool, make it two. Nothing like in this world than tasting the fragrance of a cup of coffee when u wake up be it early morning or after a small nap. Coffee is my major rescue operation when I land up in a headache not crocin or saridon, they come next, and the first I look upon is for a cup of coffee. Black Coffee, cha I have wasted some 13 years not tasting this one, I had an opportunity to taste this only a few months ago, and it too had the magic in it to ask for more. Its always refreshes me when the steam from the coffee mug hits my head, I love tat, I don’t know why but when the steam hits my head or the eye I always feel rejuvenated and I hate its counterpart the TEA. A coffee a day keeps me alive, a day without a coffee makes me fragile.

      Bored Journey

Flight Plan… I was planning to watch the movie in the big screen, Thank God I didn’t…I really didn’t have the patience to watch in my system. The film is a big bore; it really didn’t have any nail biting sequences to talk about. The whole drama happens inside a plane and at the end of the movie you will start hating the flight and the only thing that interested me at the end of the movie was that the flight was destroyed, well that’s much how was I irritated to see the movie. It’s all about a mother searching for lost daughter inside the plane and everyone knows what’s the end is going to be. The only dialogue I liked in the movie was when the air hostess gives a notice to the entire plan “I think our plane is big enough for a child to get lost” I don’t know why I liked that phrase. The little girl in the movie is cute but the movie is not.

      Mr.Incredible

For a change this time I watched an animated movie The Incredible’s… True it brings the child inside you…but only that you have to make the child to sustain for some two and half hours to watch the full movie. It was like watching an old 007 movie… All gadgets and super powers thrown in the screen you will have a weird old tamil super hero stunts and the likes of a James Bond movie. The story line is simple or in other words all super hero subjects have the same. But in here you have company for the super hero, you have the super lady and their daughter and son also into the belt and last but not the least (this phrase for the first time goes apt ) the super baby. The one and only fan club of the Mr. Incredible, in jealous to get more power and fame starts killin the entire super hero’s in the world (man where in the world there are so many hero’s… I don’t know) so that at last he is the only one super hero left out to save the world ( Bruce Willis come to scene and my next film will be his, but this time an human saving the world ) . But after the movie don’t get over excited and do super human things, you will land in a near by hospital. Those things are reserved for silver screens alone, Happy coming back to day to day life.

      Memento

At last I watched the much hyped movie Memento after Ghajini hit the theatres in Chennai. I have heard people say that Memento was a great film and from which Ghajini was inspired could not match its English counterpart. Well that is obviously true, but both had its central theme different. For all I know, Ghajini concentrated more on the cute romantic sequences which was shared between Surya and asin. But Memento revolves around the guy who tries to take vengeance. In memento, the married life of the lead is never shown and you get to see only a glimpse of the lead pair but here in Ghajini the film revolves around asin. Memento moves backwards. It took me half an hour to realize that the movie goes backwards and while I could not explain that how, I don’t know how the director would have made a screen play for the film. That was great. Sometimes you think why the hell that he does that and then you realize that he suffers from short term memory loss, that much impact the film would have on you. I liked the point said in the film that even if you close ur eyes, the world will stay there and nothing will change just coz you closed yours.

      Mind Hunters

Mind Hunters….the director of the film would have definitely got inspired from Final Destination... the basic theme in both the films is one and the same i.e death... here however the group knows the time when someone of them is the prey, but not who and how...Whoever watched the movie final destination and enjoyed watching people getting killed one by one, will like MindHunters too. It too had the same thriller kind of experience. But the last 15 minutes you kind of get bored. But the rest of the film makes you get chilled. Since I liked the film Final Destination, I liked this too and it can be watched. The base theme of creating and exploring profiles was good ... you will get that only if u watch the movie… I started watching the movie at 2 in the night saying to myself I shall watch the first 30 minutes and the see the rest of the movie later… but it had the essence to make me watch it till 3:40. I always like these kinds of movies…one which has puzzles, clues, action and thriller all in one single place. So I liked this one too …

      the women in pink

Watched the movie Legally Blonde... both the first and the second part... yuck … it’s a truly cent percent I would call a girlish kind of movie.. all those girls who over react when they see their old classmates and who like to spend hours watching their face over a object which has nothing left but you show ur face again and those girls who spend 40% of their so called salary or pocket money in beauty parlors and those who carry a small parlor with them in their hand bags and who are very concerned with the new releases of Lakme face products will definitely like this money. We have seen Mani Ratnam giving blue, green and red tints for the scenes covering siddharth, surya and Madhavan in the movie Ayudha Ezluthu. Witness here a pink tint through out the movie… at some point of time in the middle of the movie you start to feel pinkish... I don’t know what that means to everyone… but you start seeing everything around you pink in color… I seriously don’t know how I watched both the parts… But at the end of the 2 parts you will start getting urself attracted to the women in pink...Resse Witherspoon... She is cute…

      Mylapore

I came across a guy who was doing a project on Mylapore and he wanted to give me a report on why I like Mylapore and blah blah. So what did I reply him. This is what …..

I don’t know about other towns which surround me... I was hailed from Mylapore and have been a resident of it for the past 23 years of my age which is of course the main reason why I don’t wanna change this place and go somewhere else. You get everything here, from a to z, everything is reachable. Say Mylapore, certain things which come to my mind instantly are kapaleeshwar temple and the tank at the back of it, iyengar girls  , sangeetha hotel, mamis, of course Mylapore has a majority of Brahmin residents and that is what it is famous off, though off late that fact is getting extinguished, I am very passionate about drinking coffee, the simple reason why that habit got into me is that I have been drinking a lot of filter coffee in many of my friends home who happen to be Brahmins and filter coffee by a mami beats everything in the world. Then comes the mami’s daughter, I grew up sight seeing a lot of mami’s daughter (of course I will end up getting married one), who in their teenage with padava thavani come circle around the place with innocent looks accompanied by their mother, but later they become crooked enough with their outlook and their minds corrupted, revolve the place with jeans and shirt and I hate that. Ask anybody why they like Mylapore, a majority of residents will come up with the answer Temples.

There are lots of small temples in mylapore which occupy almost all the streets. Ask any house wife, why they like Mylapore, they say I am staying closer to the market and there are temples here and I simply love the residents of Mylapore who are amicable and lovely and it is closer to the beach . Talking about Marina beach is altogether a different subject and I will come back to that later. Some events in Mylapore which happen every year are the Mylapore Festival and the kapaleeshwar Temple Thiruvizha (of course many will be associated with temples and God). People who are very passionate about Gods and Temple will definitely like this place a lot.

Land prices in Mylapore is very high. I have heard people say tat always land prices in Mylapore is high coz of the fact that streets in Mylapore are visited by God and that’s how the land prices rose here, well that is history and Mylapore is one of the places which developed when Madras was getting developed and it remained one of its core important places to be visited and it did attract tourists and it still attracts them. The one thing which can irritate people here is tat is highly crowded and streets in Mylapore are less wider and houses are jam packed here. I would say tat there is some improper infrastructure maintained here but still land prices are very high here. Well this is what I could write as of now as I have to attend a meeting now….

      Stay away

The stay... that’s the movie I watched yesterday and please stay away from the movie. The movie was a big bore thought it had some new fresh sequences and new interpretations throw in from the team behind. But in a nutshell, the film was a big bore. After getting bored with that, I went to watch another film Crash. That’s a true Hollywood style movie. The movie was great. The movie had that magic with it to hold me in patience to watch it fully, though it was full of dialogues. I liked the movie very much. Last Saturday tried to get tickets for syriana but ended up watching Species, another bore film with many parts censored and what was left on the scenes was very irritating to much. Waiting for United 93 and Da Vinci code to hit the theatres…

      Movie Freak

I started off the weekend with the movie Dharna Zaroori hai .. Well quite an interesting movie to start the weekend with, though the scenes weren’t as fresh and nothing new, the film wasn’t boring. It was a horror film and Ram Gopal Verma’s intention to scare the people, I would say from the screams I heard all round me, he did score in that part. I liked the part where Arjun Rampal/Bipasu turns up with each other. The twist and turns were handled beautifully .Then I saw Dishyum, Azhagai Erukai paya… then Ocean’s Eleven and Thiru Payale . I became a movie freak this weekend and I have one more three day weekend coming up before me and I have in my queue some 10+ movies to be watched.
