You wake up at Seatac, SFO, LAX. You wake up at O'Hare, Dallas-Fort Worth, BWI. Pacific, mountain, central. Lose an hour, gain an hour. This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time. You wake up at Air Harbor International. If you wake up at a different time, in a different place, could you wake up as a different person? We're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.

Its been quite some time since I wrote a post on movies. And know what, I have been watching quite a lot of them but none of the post was on them, so writing on something which I like doing it. Here goes the list ...

Wall Street : Charts, Graphs, Numbers, calls, puts, options et cetera et cetera, if you are fantasized about these terms in you day to day life, then this is definitely a must watch. Edward Norton in 25th Hour in the very famous dialogue renders " Fuck the Wall Street brokers. Self-styled masters of the universe. Michael Douglas, Gordon Gekko wannabe mother fuckers, figuring out new ways to rob hard working people blind. Send those Enron assholes to jail for FUCKING LIFE!" . I wanted to watch this movie when I heard this dialog and when searched about this film, the rating on IBDB was good and the user comment stated as " Taut, sharply written thriller" and adding to the fact that Michael Douglas got an Oscar Award for the actor in leading role and a number of other awards, I must say it only added fuel to the fire. There is a quite a lot of scenes that I like in the movie, to mention one, it will be this- Gordon Gekko and Bud Fox in their conversation in the limousine, Gekko says "You see that building? I bought that building ten years ago. My first real estate deal. Sold it two years later, made an $800,000 profit. It was better than sex. At the time I thought that was all the money in the world. Now it's a day's pay." When all the movies that I was watching revolved around themes like crime, mystery, romantic comedy, wars etc etc, this one was way different from the others and definitely one of my fav.movies and I wont get bored watching this again and again.

Gandhi: WOW, I wasn't aware that there was a Hollywood film on Gandhi till I watched this. This is a Great Film, I just don't have anything else to say for this movie. This is ranked 8.1 and it stays at 164 and that is clearly a score which is under rated for this film. This deserves much more than that. Shooting a life history of a man is no joke and requires careful attention to detail. There a no of scenes that I liked in the movie, the one that stands atop is, before he sets himself for the dandi march, Vince Walker ( the reporter played by Martin Sheen) asks Gandhi " You Know what you are gonna do" for which he replies" It would be very uncivil of me to make such a long distance for nothing" and there comes the Dandi March and what comes later the History has taught us. Apart from What I learnt about Gandhi in textbook as the Father of the Nation, I knew nothing much, once I started reading the auto biography of Gandhi but I didn't come to that part where he strived hard for the freedom of the nation.Watch this film and you will get to know that. This is truly a classic. This is one of the scenes from the movie. ( PS: this film got 8 Oscars)

Seabiscuit: Okka Mokka. Gum Thaka Padam ethu. Such a beauty this film is. Based on a book, I am not sure whether this was a true story or not, whatever it is,this film just excels. This is also not one of those regular crime or action stuffs. This is all about a Horse and a jockey. Definitely a must watch. and this is one of the good scenes from the movie which I could get hold of in You tube, however I couldn't snatch my fav scene where the jockey explains, the race is in his heart and not in his eyes. One of the you tube comment said " There is nothing more beautiful than a horse" ha ha. That's how you feel after the movie.

Pulp Fiction : They call him the master of Dark Humour- Quentin Tarantino , all his films stand apart from other directors and Pulp Fiction is no different. ( PS: It is Ranked all Time 5thposistion in IMDB Top 250) I did like this film but I am still skeptical how it made it to the top 5. The others being GodFather 1 and 2, Shawshank Redemption, Good bad and Ugly. Those are epics in their own classes. Pulp fiction is good stuff but still to make it to the top 5, I personally didn't feel like. I would rate Fight Club better than this. And the screen play in this movie was so elegant and Yeah, he got an oscar for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen for this movie :) .Jules the character played by Samuel Jackson is my pick in the bundle of characters in the movie. The following dialogue comes around 3 times in the movie and its just awesome and delivered by of course Jules . "There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you. I been sayin' that shit for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a motherfucker before you popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this mornin' made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd."

      Mayavi
: Jo Jo Jythokiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.. nee vaatama kutti berika..... but apart from her, the role satyaraj played by satyan was hell a lot of a comedy. Watch for his reactions in the movie.
      Good song from the movie

Rain Man: Dustin Hoffman was just awesome and Tom Cruise in his late 20's, one of his earlier movies, this is not one of his action flicks, this film is all about a relationship between 2 brothers. Having watched a number of mission accomplished stuff from Tom Cruise, this was a real treat. And one more film that I want to watch of his is Jerry Maguire. its been in my pending list for a long time. This movie is like say Anbe Siva etc where the story revolves around 2 characters on screen. But this isn't a Tom Cruise Film, the show stealer is Dustin Hoffman. Those scenes which exhibit Dustin Hoffman's memory like those Aeroplane accidents, playing cards, counting match sticks and Tom Cruises spell-bound by those are too good. This film had quite a interesting scenes between those 2.

Down in the Valley & The Painted Veil : Being a true Edward Norton film, I went for these 2 and both let me down only the films not the actor. But still I say avoid these film else it will be a waste of time :)

      The Silence of the Lambs:
While I was randomly looking for movies in imbd, this film caught my attention, first thing, it won 5 Oscars, and that too it sweep-ed the main 5 , Best Actor, Actress, Picture, Director and Screen Play. and that too Antony Hopkins comes in the movie for just 20 minutes and gets away with an oscar for the best actor. Till date this actor maintains that record for appearing for the shortest time and getting away with an Oscar :) That guy was a terror in the film and Jodie Foster was simply amazing as well. Those interview scenes between her and Antony Hopkins were just awesome. Hannibal Lector, the way it is stressed in the film adds sweat to the one watching the film.
"You know what you look like to me, with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition's given you some length of bone, but you're not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you, Agent Starling? And that accent you've tried so desperately to shed: pure West Virginia. What is your father, dear? Is he a coal miner? Does he stink of the lamp? You know how quickly the boys found you... all those tedious sticky fumblings in the back seats of cars... while you could only dream of getting out... getting anywhere... getting all the way to the FBI." That's the opening scene for Hannibal Lectar. The way he delivers the dialogue induces terror in Jodie Foster but still she hides them and try to look casual. That was one hell a lot of a scene.

Insomnia : I love watching Christopher Nolan movies ( Batman begins was a real suprise, it had lots of philosophies in it) , that's the reason I went for this and since this also had Al Pacino in it, I rented this and pity only the place Alaska where the movie was picturised was good and nothing else :(

Fast and the Furious:Tokyo Drift : Maaaaaaaamaaaaaaaaa Sitaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... WOW, I always like Fast and Furios and this is no let down. The first song in the movie 6 days, that was lingering in my mind for a long time. Tried searching for the video of the same but couldn't get it. No wait as I was searching and composing this, I got hold of it. Watch this.

LOST Season: WOW. This deserves a separate post.

The movies that I have lined up for the week are God Father 2,
Jodha Akbar, Tamil MA, Blood Diamond etc:- :P
